Special Teams coaches, during the summer of 2004, creating a curriculum guide for utilization with a team of parent leaders during the 2004-2005 school year. Coaches assignments are as follows:
The Special Teams Coaches contacted districts during the Spring semester in order to determine how to best meet each district's needs in the upcoming two years of the project. Their questions will be based on information discovered during their Best Practices research conducted during the fall. Results from best practices research:
The Plan: The following is a rough outline of the proposed plan for Special Teams activities during the second and third years of the TARGET grant: July 1, 2004-June 30, 2005 Goal: Establish a TARGET team of parents in each district that will be the core group to assist with reaching other parents. Objectives: 1) Recruit and train a team of parents from district recommendations 2) Train parent team to promote parental involvement utilizing a training curriculum compiled by the Special Teams coaches 3)The TARGET team of parents will organize and host 2 events- 1 per semester with at least one of them being TAKS related
July 1, 2005- June 30, 2006 Goal: Introduce and implement Class Server system using TARGET team as trainers Objectives: 1) Train TARGET team on Class Serving using TARGET line coaches and defensive coordinators 2) Hold two Class Server Parent Involvement Events- one per semester 3) Provide ongoing training, support and access for Class Server to parents |
